TOURNAMENT
The SD41 tournament is an opportunity for chess players from all across Burnaby to compete against each other for prizes and and recognition. All skill levels are welcome!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament will be hosted on chess.com as an online experience.
The tournament will be hosted
TWO CATEGORIES
There will be both a competitive and recreational category for players to compete in. Both categories operate in a Round Robin format, with individual awards each.

AWARDS
Top winners in each category will receive custom medals, and the top player will receive a custom trophy. Gift cards will also be awarded.

As the first and only high-school oriented chess tournament in Burnaby, you are sure to meet plenty of skilled players. Note that everyone of all skill levels is welcome to compete!
ABOUT US
This iteration will be the first-ever School District 41 chess tournament for all players currently living in Burnaby. Whether your high school has an active chess club or not, you are eligible to register and compete for the chance to win prizes and prestige.
Our tournament is not affiliated with the International Chess Federation (FIDE) or the Chess Federation of Canada (CFC); therefore, there is no risk of losing rating, whichever category you attend.
